9.18.24 - um, maybe what I want to look into is drawing + its history (and the significance of its process and practice) more closely...I’ve learned (i think) to devalue drawing because of its social value that I observe (at least) as being faint and abstract in the scheme of things. There’s such high valuing of written word and such low valuing of drawing. both are done with the same tools. Approach and process is different though.
id like to look into the social + cultural value of drawing and the ways that its played a role in peoples lives over time. This also reveals value systems within various cultures (maybe?)
i would be engaging in a process of revealing to myself drawing’s intrinsic value. Isn’t there a preference for embodiment? Drawing feels embodied and can be a very intuitive process.
